The WHF2045B is designed for mess-free maintenance. Before unscrewing the housing, you can release the internal pressure by simply opening the bottom Drain Valve to let out excess water, or by pressing the red Pressure Release (PR) button on the cap. Using the drain valve not only depressurizes the system but also flushes out any heavy sediment trapped at the bottom, making the housing lighter and easier to unscrew.
